MAGNIFICENT SEVEN: Ledbury’s Sam Prestwich, Marcus Letori, Sam Seaborn, Cam Hunter, Ellis Ward, Rory Bateson and Ben Shimwell attended the North Midlands under 18 trials.
SEVEN Ledbury colts featured in the Herefordshire squad of 22 at the North Midlands under 18 trials.
An unprecedented five players from the Ross Road club then progressed through to the first training sessions among 15 from the county.
With squads from Shropshire, Worcestershire and Greater Birmingham also participating in Droitwich, Herefordshire emerged outright winners.
They beat Shropshire 5-0 and Greater Birmingham 7-0 in tight contests as assessors noted their cohesive unit.
Sam Prestwich, Marcus Letori, Cam Hunter, Rory Bateson and Ben Shimwell then headed to North Midlands training at the King’s School, Worcester.
Sam Seaborn and Ellis Ward also made the trials in Droitwich but not the final cut.
