A MALVERN-based karate student earned his first-ever trophy at his club’s annual tournament. During the event held at Powick Parish Hall, Kumite (sparring) was the main category where students from their respective clubs competed for trophies in elimination bouts of semi-contact fighting skills. During this final, the junior grade championship, Ultimate Karate student Josh Bennett, who is a red belt, earned his first karate trophy, a silver cup award by fighting to earn points in combat against students of a similar level of experience.
