LEDBURY Town Reserves kept up their The Hereford Times Herefordshire League Division One title pursuit with a 9-0 romp at basement boys Bartestree Reserves.

Prolific former first-team striker Jamie Welch repeated his feat from the previous week by scoring four goals.

Midfielder Scott Roberts grabbed a brace, while Martin Loveridge, Pat Locke and Rodney Hathaway were also on target for Phil Preedy and Roly Welch’s side.

They host fourth-placed Holme Lacy in the league on Saturday (2.30pm), with games in hand over the top two — Bromyard and Woofferton.

Ledbury Colts rose to fifth place in Division Three with a 5-3 win over Northwood Rangers at New Street.

Richard Thick’s young side were 2-0 down after just 17 minutes, but striker Jamie Gladwin struck back with a hat-trick — including a penalty — and ex-first-team player-manager Pete Boyle also found the net.

The hosts received unexpected assistance with a Northwood own goal after a free-kick from veteran Ashley Jones.

Colts look to mount a challenge for the top three at lowly Weston on Saturday (2.30pm).
