WITH reference to the recent cable car furore, I suggest a better idea if retailers want people in the town.

Why not lobby to get rid of the Post Office sorting office from the centre of town.

Keep the post office itself, an excellent shop and service but re-locate the sorting office out of town where it would make more sense.

There would be ample parking for post office vans that currently cause havoc in the town every morning parked anywhere and everywhere.

Then, pave Church Street, re-develop the sorting office building into a nice little shopping mall with pavement cafés etc.

This would be more pleasant on the eye and much more of an attractive proposition for shoppers coming to Malvern.
