A Malvern arts centre has joined a scheme that brings subsidised live theatre to community venues.

Malvern Cube, in Albert Road North, is now a member of Live & Local, which works with a network of voluntary groups across several Midlands counties.

A spokesperson for the Cube, which is run by volunteers, said it was an exciting time.

“This fantastic scheme enables audiences to experience shows that they may usually not have access to in their locality, supports venues to provide new and diverse shows and also supports performers and artists as they seek to return to the stage after the Covid pandemic,” they said.

“Our first Live & Local performance is a theatre performance of MUMMY: The Art of Saying Goodbye.

“Written and performed by Amy Gwillian, this is a wonderfully intimate one-person show about death, grief and the art of letting go.”

The show takes place on Saturday, February 18 at 7.30pm. Organisers say it is suitable for adults and older children (12 and above), and tickets are available from the Cube website.
