LOCAL trader Kylie Cottrell’s Link Barbers and Studio K hairdressers have been fixtures on the Worcester Road in Malvern Link for three and four years respectively.

They’ve just been joined by a brand new venture for Kylie – a coffee and sandwich bar!

So why branch out into food and drink? Kylie explains: “There are lots of good fast food places and cafés in the Link, but nowhere to get a freshly made sandwich or coffee to go. I decided to fill that gap!”

Coffee Express opened in October and is already getting fantastic feedback. It’s hardly surprising. Sandwiches and baguettes are made to order (using bread delivered daily from Court Road Bakery), with wheat and gluten-free options costing the same as the standard variation.

Salad boxes, home-made soups, quiches, hot bacon or sausage sandwiches and baguettes, jacket potatoes and sausage rolls complete a delicious food line-up.

And if you fancy a coffee, it’ll be made just how you like it using the gleaming chrome Italian coffee machine sitting behind the counter.

Apart from serving tasty, freshly made hot and cold food and excellent coffee, Kylie says the most important factor is customer service.

“The best thing about running your own business is you can give the kind of customer service you’d like to receive.”

She’s also passionate about supporting local suppliers.

“As a local business I like to use local businesses, and opening Coffee Express proved to me why I do. It took us just three weeks to convert the shop and we couldn’t have done it without the support of local trades.”

Coffee Express is tucked away on Fir Tree Walk, just off Worcester Road in Malvern Link. Pop in and you’ll be sure of mouth-watering food and drink and a warm welcome from Jackie and Lewis.
