WORCESTER Warriors are concerned over the “integrity of promotion and relegation” after settlements were made with unnamed Premiership clubs over last season’s salary cap.
Premiership Rugby revealed “confidential agreements” had been reached following “certain issues” with clubs over last season’s £4.76million limit.
Warriors are among nine clubs to deny their involvement, along with Northampton Saints, Gloucester, Exeter, Wasps, Harlequins, Newcastle, Bath and Sale.
Warriors director of rugby Dean Ryan said: “We don’t have any salary cap issues in any shape or form.
“We are concerned about the integrity of promotion and relegation because we are being asked to move from a competition that is way behind the Premiership and have to be able to follow English Qualified Players (EQP) and all avenues we have been asked to close in 12 months.
“We have issues around that but I have no idea what the confidential agreements are and who are involved.”
The salary cap for Premiership clubs this season is £5.5m but is being raised to £6.5m next term.
