Worcester City are hosting a family fun day as they look to keep the good feeling going following two derby wins in a week.

Families are being encouraged to get down to City’s Claines Lane ground early on Saturday (September 9) ahead of the league clash with Thornbury Town.

From 1.30pm, there will be a bouncy castle, DJ, beat the goalie competition and more.

There will also be a free gift for every child from the club.

Admission to the fun day is included in the price of a match ticket, which is £8 for adults, £6 concessions, £3 for juniors (12-17) and free for under 12s.

The game kicks off at 3pm and will see City attempt to make it three wins out of three in the Uhlsport Hellenic League Premier Division, following Derby Day wins over Worcester Raiders at Sixways and at home to Pershore Town on Tuesday.

The Pershore game saw City’s biggest attendance since moving to Claines Lane - a crowd of 912 - and winger Liam Lockett scored both goals as City ran out 2-0 winners on the night.

Worcester City currently sit third in the league, level on points with four other teams including local rivals Worcester Raiders and four points behind early front-runners Corsham Town.

Raiders travel to Wantage Town on Saturday hoping for a second win on the bounce after a 3-1 victory over Lydney Town in mid-week.

Isaac Cooper, Jake Donnelly and Joe Bates all scored to get Raiders back to winning ways following defeat in the Worcester derby.

Malvern Town are in FA Trophy action on Saturday, with a home tie against Mousehole in the competition’s first qualifying round.

It will be the Hillsiders’ first game in the Trophy since the 2008/09 season and they’ll be hoping to go at least one better this time around having been knocked out in their first game.

For visitors Mousehole, it’s a first-ever FA Trophy game as well as a long journey up from south Cornwall.

And there are no replays, or extra time, so if the score is level after 90 minutes the tie will go straight to a penalty shootout.
