SIXTEEN Malvern United Angling Association fishermen met at Hartleton pool for the spring league series second round.
While occasional blustery conditions caused problems for some anglers presenting their bait using a pole, it did not prevent Paul Lane from amassing a weight of 13lb 4oz using the tactics.
Fishing a single red maggot on a size 20 hook attached to a 2lb hook length over ground bait at 13m, Paul caught roach and skimmers steadily throughout.
Only a little way behind in second place with 12-1 came new member Rory Jones who pole-fished pellets over ground bait at 14m to tempt most of the fish he caught.
Occupying third was Danny Cooper with 8-5 as he fished red maggot presented on the pole at around 11m over ground bait while loose feeding pinkies.
D Garnett managed 5-5, I Goddard 5-2, N Bayliss 5-1, S Warren 5-0, J Gill 4-5, C Loveridge 4-0, L Harman 3-0, P Bayliss 2-15, G Rees and R Webster 2-14, D Harris 2-3, L Richards 2-2 and F Edwards 0-12.
