WEATHER conditions for Malvern Anglers' Wye Cup match at Bishopswood turned out to be reasonably good despite a terrible forecast of wind and rain.
With some extra water running in the river but not much colour the bigger fish were somewhat reluctant to feed for most anglers.
After trying for some time for bigger fish Paul Lane reverted to bleak tactics to accumulate about 300 of them for a winning weight of 11lb 14oz 0dr.
Pete Roberts stayed with big-fish tactics with luncheon meat bait to tempt two barbel and a chub to finish a close second with 11-6.
However, Richard Webster also reverted to bleak tactics to weigh in 9-0 for third place.
John Shaw caught 4-0, Graham Rees 3-2 and Chris Loveridge 2-0.
