MALVERN Hills Buzzards lost a pre-season friendly 90-74 to Cheltenham Hawks at Dyson Perrins Academy.
They prepared for the new Worcester League season against a well-established Cheltenham Hawks team.
Buzzards fielded three new additions in George Elliott, Ed Elliott and Chris Hopkins.
They also welcomed back Dale Morton from a long-term ankle injury.
Buzzards started brightly, securing points with good possession and defence, but Hawks pressed hard to win by 16.
However, Buzzards took many positives from the game and gained valuable experience.
Meanwhile, Malvern Hills District Council are working with the Sports Partnership Herefordshire and Worcestershire to deliver Sport England’s programme Sportivate.
Fun and Run Basketball is a six-week course provided by Buzzards, allowing people to learn basic skills and techniques and improve their fitness.
It will be at Dyson Perrins Academy every Tuesday from 6pm until 7pm.
