Let’s focus on the team says boss Taylor

HEREFORD United manager Jon Taylor wants the focus at the club to switch to the team following another dramatic week.

After creditors rejected the proposed Company Voluntary Arrangement to pay off debts last Thursday, it appeared as though the Bulls were facing being wound-up in the courts on Monday, September 1.

However, chairman Andy Lonsdale, and directors Elke Thuerlings and John Edwards, intend to continue trading and this week put season tickets on sale.

They have also claimed there is a “large investment” on the horizon to keep the club afloat, although no details have been given.

With that in mind, Taylor wants people to look to the future, starting with tomorrow’s Southern League Premier Division trip to Arlesey Town (3pm) and Bank Holiday Monday’s home match against Redditch United.

United won their first game of the season 1-0 against Banbury last Tuesday.

Taylor said: “I think all of the financial issues have been eradicated and put in place — that does have an effect on the players and plays on their minds and it plays on our minds, too, as a management team.

“But now hopefully we can look forward.”

Lonsdale added: “There were a series of meetings and investors have basically decided to put more money into the club.”
