Ian Goodard won the main pool section of Malvern United Angling Association’s Spring Cup second round at Mathon.
MALVERN United Angling Association’s Spring Cup second round was fished on Mathon pool.
Unusually cold conditions for spring again made the fish less willing to feed but there were perch and skimmers caught as well as smaller fish.
The island pegs failed to produce carp although a couple of big ones were lost.
Both Ian Goddard and Dave Wilkes had 5lbs to win the main pool and island section respectively with John Barr close behind with 4lbs 5oz.
The cup was decided on the overall points tally from two matches and Goddard won with nine, just one ahead of Wilkes, Colin Shaw and Graham Matthews.
Second round, main pool: Goddard 5-0, Barr 4-5, C Shaw 3-0, J Shaw 3-0, M Spragg 2-3; island section: Wilkes 5-0, Matthews 1-14.
