THE junior section of the Worcestershire Golf Club organised a family day.

Ninety players competed in a series of pairs foursomes competitions held over both 18-holes and, where the junior is still at primary school, 7-holes.

The winners of the 18-hole Fathers and Sons competition were Phil and John Wynn. Runners-up were Joe and Carl Baylis. The winners of the 7-hole were Allan and Sam Watts. Runners-up were David and Bill Thomas.

In the 18-hole Generation Cup, the winners were Alan Tummey and his grandson Jamie Tummey. The runners-up were Richard and Ken Goodwin. In the 7-hole the winners were Jordon Hick and his grandfather Steve Evans. The runners-up were Jake Edwards paired with his grandfather Graham Hill.

A 5-hole singles competition for young juniors and novices was was won by Owen Phillips.

The day also raised £90 for the Acorns Childrens Hospice. This brings the total raised by the clubs junior section to over £600 during the last two years.

Pauline Belsham won the Jack Campbell Cup with an excellent score of 41 points, reducing her handicap to 13. Cynthia Guest was the runner-up.

In the June veteran's medal, James Ferguson won on countback from Bob Marriott on 39 points.

Reg Baylis won the John Scott Trophy with a net 64. Alan Wickett shot a net 66 to win the James Cup and David Agnew a net 69 to win the Ron Richards Trophy.
