MALVERN gained a Worcestershire County League division two winning draw on Saturday against Hagley at Regency Road.
MALVERN v HAGLEY
Malvern batted first and the new opening partnership of Ollie Bendall and Mark Baugh put on 50 for the first wicket before Bendall was dismissed for a solid 32.
Jeremy Lee (17) and Luke Halion (27) made useful contributions, Baugh made 56 before he was bowled by Lightfoot and Rob Perrins (12no) hit out at the end as Malvern closed on 190-9.
Rob Francis made early inroads into the Hagley batting having opener J Tringham lbw for five and T Jordan caught by Cullen for 20.
After that the visitors were happy to hang on for a losing draw with opener C Eades carrying his bat for a very steady 53 and no other batsman looking like making a score.
Francis was the most successful Malvern bowler with 5-41 and there were also good spells from Lee (40-2) and Dan Besgrove, who bowled eight overs for 19 runs.
