Penkridge Town 0, Malvern Rangers 4.

A LEE Hooper hat-trick inspired Malvern Rangers to victory over third-placed Penkridge Town in the West Midlands League Division Two.

Penkridge came straight back at Malvern and slack marking, following a free-kick allowed Richard Reeves space, and he drove the ball past the upright.

Rangers keeper Ian Hill had his best game so far this season.

He made three tremendous saves in quick succession.

He then denied Penkridge’s Steve Thompson a golden opportunity when the striker burst through the Rangers defence and he found himself one-on-one with Hill. But brave keeping saw him block the ball with his feet, and Tim Clarke cleared the danger.

The first goal came as Endacott made ground to the near post and he chipped the ball to the far post, where Hooper side-footed home to make it 1-0.

With 70 minutes played, the same two combined once more, and this time they set up Hooper, who chipped the ball over Sharman to double the lead. With 10 minutes to go, Rangers pressed forward and a mix-up in defence by the home side allowed Paul Edwards to bundle the ball over the line from close range.

The game was settled as a contest two minutes later, when Edwards delivered a corner to the far post, where Hooper darted into head home for his hat-trick and Malvern’s fourth.
