Mahal 3, Malvern Rangers 6.

MALVERN Rangers travelled to Birmingham and came away with all three points from a high-scoring West Midlands (Regional) League Division Two game.

Mahal created the first chance with a passing move which saw the ball hit the back of the net.

But Rangers were relieved to see the linesman’s flag raised and the effort ruled out for offside.

James Argent found Rob Cullen racing down the wing and he squared the ball back from the by-line to Lee Hooper who side-footed home for 1-0.

With 24 minutes played Daniel Oakley burst through Rangers’ defence and Carl Preece was forced to race off his line in an attempt to clear the ball upfield.

But in doing so he kicked the ball straight at Josh Burt and the ball rebounded back into Preece’s own net for 1-1.

Rangers regained the lead when Ed Lyons won a tackle and played the ball to Cullen who scored from just inside the box.

Just after the break Cullen created the third goal when he found Hooper on the edge of the box and a quick one-two with Lyons saw Hooper side- foot home for his second and Rangers’ third goal. With 60 minutes played, Fletcher intercepted a ball and put Ollie Endacott into space. Seeing Sanjerv Junal off his line, Endacott chipped the keeper for a delightful goal.

With a three-goal lead the game should have been done and dusted but Mahal never gave up, and when Joe Endacott handled the ball inside his box Mark Morris drove the resultant penalty past Preece.

With 20 minutes to go, Ollie Endacott chipped the ball to Argent and his header put Cullen away. His delicate touch put the ball between keeper and post to restore Rangers’ three-goal advantage.

Straight from the re-start Mahal attacked and, when Joe Endacott tripped Dhanda, the referee awarded a second penalty which Morris duly dispatched.

With five minutes left, Ollie Endacott scored the sixth.
