Bredon Buzzards u11s 14, Ledbury u11s 14.

LEDBURY began brightly and Hinkley led from the front.

He was tenacious at the breakdown and was a real handful for the hosts.

Bennion carried hard and, assisted by Scott Ledbury, probed for an early break- through. But Bredon’s defence was organised and patient and kept the visitors at bay.

Both sides rucked aggressively and Ledbury failed to capitilise on their territorial dominance in the first quarter and at the break it was all-square as defences got on top. The visitors, through Hinkley, capitalised on a mix-up from the re-start, diving on the loose ball from the ensuing ruck from the Ledbury forwards.

Harris fed Bandfield, who made half-a-yard and secured the ball just two metres from the hosts’ line.

Quick ball from Harris fed Hemingway and the prop used his strength to go over in the corner to open the scoring and finish off a good team score. Prestwich added the extras.

Rayner and Skittery protected the ball for Harris to feed Prestwich. His delayed pass to Evans at pace saw the winger evade the full-back’s tackle and score and with the kick, converted by Prestwich, the visitors were 14-0 up.

With the game into its third quarter, more changes were made as both both sides continued to fight for everything.

Harris, Marriott and Evans used the space well to create opportunities.

But Bredon defended well and the quarter finished as it started.

As the game entered its final quarter more changes were made which seemed to disrupt the visitors’ balance more than the hosts and Bredon were soon to sense this and capitalise on it.

A poor decision caused Ledbury to fail to deal with clearing their lines, and after several attempts to clear and relieve the pressure, their kick was charged down and fell for a Bredon player to score and the conversion was good.

Ledbury u17s 10, Hereford u17s 30.

DESPITE a good first-half attempt by Ledbury they failed to defeat Hereford.

Both teams got off to a strong start, with neither dominating possession.

However, Ledbury quickly got into the game after they received a penalty in their 22, from which Jack Benson managed to score the try, converted by George Benyon.

The visitors nearly managed to score soon after, but it was eventually cleared by a strong Ledbury side.

At this point Ledbury began to gain possession and were quick to score a penalty. The hosts showed good attacking and running skills in their 22, but failed to score due to good defence by Hereford.

Hereford soon took control and brought the ball to within five metres of their try-line.

However, it was soon cleared by a good kick from George Lee. Under pressure, both teams preformed well.

But it was Ledbury who dominated the first-half with the score 10-0 at half-time.

Hereford took early control of the second-half and the score was soon 10-7 after a good try.

The home side began to look weak with little possession and poor tackling. This allowed Hereford to score two penalties.

From a line-out on Hereford’s 22, the scrum-half made a break and a supporting player burst through many tackles to score. A good conversion signalled the end to a disappointing game for Ledbury.
