THERE will be even more fair play on display at Langland Stadium this season with the introduction of new pre-match rules.

Malvern Town kick-off at home to newcomers AFC Sudbury in the British Gas Business Southern League Division One Midlands tomorrow.

Before the start of every game both teams will participate in the ‘fair play handshake protocol’ introduced by the FA and endorsed by the Southern League.

This will result in both teams lining up after they have exited the tunnel with the match officials in the middle of the teams.

The home team will then shake the officials’ and then the away teams’ hand’s before they break off to their favoured end in kick-in.

The away team will then shake the officials’ hands before dispersing to the opposing end for their kick-in. Spectators are asked to be patient as it will take a little time for the players to get into the habit.

The club are also opening their ‘200 club’ on the opening day of the season.

Tickets are £5 per month and prizes are drawn on the last Friday of the month.

It is anticipated that there will be prizes of £75, £50 and £25 each month with a larger draw in December and at the end of the season, but until the tickets are sold the exact figures will not be able to be calculated.

The first draw will take place at the end of September.

Application forms are available from Margaret and Brian Scott on (01905) 831327 or at the club itself.

The club are hoping that Malvern spectators will come along and show their support to the team lead by Joe Rawle, the Malvern manager, as he introduces young players into the squad.
