BARNARDS Green's winless run stretched to four games last weekend as they suffered an eight-wicket defeat at home to Wolverhampton.

Ollie Roggoff went over the ropes five times in his brilliant knock of 69 runs off just 73 deliveries but it was not enough as Green only managed to post 210.

Opener Ryan Tongue scored 50 but other than an impressive knock from number.10 Ben Clarke (36), only one played reached double-figure scores.

It was a low score and high-flying Wolverhampton were favourites to go on and win but the visitors did not rush the chase.

Green's bowlers struggled to make inroads and openers Warrick Fynn and Ramanjot Jaswal put on 112 for the first wicket to put them in firm control.

Jaswal was run out in a mix-up with his partner Fynn and despite George Rhodes trapping Benjamin Horne LBW for 17, there would be no further breakthrough as Fynn batted throughout the afternoon to record a brilliant 122 not-out from 162 deliveries which included one 6 and 17 fours.

Thomas Fell contributed 29 runs and scored the winning four to complete the victory for the away side, who stay in second position in the Birmingham & District Premier League Division One table.

Green sit ninth with just one win so far. They travel to a winless Barnt Green this weekend for a 12PM start.
