TWO members of Ledbury Rugby Club who raised over £1,500 with a day-long golf marathon have organised a golf day to raise further funds.

Dave Masefield and Steve Knight played five 18-hole golf course and 12 holes at another on one day in Herefordshire to raise funds for Dave's nephew Tim Farr, who hopes to compete in the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver.

The duo raised their cash to assist Tim, who is paralysed from the waist down following a skiing accident three years ago, to purchase a racing wheelchair to help realise his Olympic dream.

The chair will cost more than £3,000 and fundraising will continue with a golf day at Kington Golf Club on Friday, July 27.

Teams of four will be welcome for a £200 entry fee per team, to include a buffet supper. Anyone who would like to take part in the day at Kington should call Penny Woodbridge on 01531 630068.
