JUST a single point now separates leaders Worcester and Pershore at the top of Worcestershire League Division One.

Worcester won by three wickets at Colwall, while Pershore kept up the pressure with a commanding 10-wicket success at Droitwich.

Colwall, having lost to both the top two in the past two weeks, are still third, 43 points behind Pershore, but Pedmore have closed the gap to four in the race for third place after a winning draw at Hagley.

Worcester Nomads, who recorded a first win in six weeks at Harvington, are one point ahead of both Belbroughton and Hagley, the former dealing another blow to bottom side Bromyard, who were again dismissed for under 100 and are now 23 from safety.

Redditch put some daylight between themselves and the bottom four scrapping for survival with a winning draw at Evesham thanks to Francois Mostert’s unbeaten 103.

Burghill and Tillington extended their lead over Bewdley in Division Two to seven points after the sides met in an exciting winning draw at Lower Park. In the end, Bewdley finished the contest’s 100th over 10 runs short with the last pair at the crease.

Oldswinford and Stourbridge Social are third, three points behind Bewdley after they defeated Feckenham thanks to 104 from Dave Haywood.

Division Three leaders Harborne thrashed bottom-of-the-table Tenbury and Stourport maintained their push for promotion with victory at Avoncroft.

Third-placed Bredon had three extra overs at home to Old Vigornians but could not force a victory after Martin Hill had made an unbeaten 100 for the hosts.

Chaddesley Corbett’s Mohammad Saddiq claimed 7-57, including a hat-trick, against Netherton to stay top of the league’s wicket takers.

Alveley recorded their first victory of the season by beating Alvechurch.

Bartestree and Lugwardine returned to winning ways in Division Four with victory at Himley, while Himbleton stay second after beating Romsley.

Claverley earned a winning draw at Kidderminster Victoria and Bromsgrove are fourth after beating Oldswinford.

Division Five leaders Kempsey thrashed Old Elizabethans by 246 runs courtesy of 120 from skipper Zak O’Neill and 84 in 48 balls from Raheel Lone.

Hanley Castle’s father and son Grant and Rory Mathews scored most of their side’s runs to guide them to victory at Stourbridge.

Stourport are fourth having held on for a draw at home to Hallow after Greg Fowler’s 99 for the visitors.
