UPTON Town backed up their derby win over Hanley Swan with a solid 3-2 success at third-placed RSG in Cheltenham Association League Division Two.

After a cagey opening, Matt Hindmarsh’s header looked to have crossed the line but no goal was given and RSG opened the scoring shortly after.

Mark Amott was denied a clear penalty and Kristian Richardson also hit the bar in the first-half.

Luke Kitchen levelled on 50 minutes, chipping over the advancing keeper after a Hindmarsh through-ball, and a fine passing move saw Tom Crump give Town the lead on the hour.

Substitute Luan Gashi beat the keeper in a one-on-one on 75 minutes before he missed a chance in the last 10 minutes along with Will Radnor and Hindmarsh.

RSG pulled a goal back on 90 minutes but fourth-placed Upton still have an outside chance of a third promotion in four seasons.
