ENQUIRIES for next year’s confirmation course are now welcome.

Candidates should ideally be at least 13 years of age, although the bishop may occasionally accept children younger than this if there is good reason to do so.

Adults are also warmly invited to take part and the Rev Chris Moss would be prepared to run separate classes for them if that seems appropriate.

There are already two adults from Longdon who have expressed interest.

The church services for the coming week are as follows:

On Thursday: Carols by Candlelight at St Nicholas’s Church, Queenhill at 7pm, followed by seasonal refreshments.

Bridge Builders will be holding their Christmas Party on Sunday from 3.30pm-5.30pm.

A Christmas concert will be held in St Mary’s Church on Wednesday at 7pm.

Tickets are £6 to include light refreshments, and children are free.

Tickets are available from the Church Office on 01684 833152.

On Saturday, December 22, A Christmas activity morning will be held at the Vicarage, Longdon, from 10am-noon.

If you are aged five-12, come along and have fun making Christmas decorations, cooking, singing and reminding yourself of what Christmas is really all about.

There is a small charge of £4 to cover materials and refreshments. Ring Eileen on 07873347941 or 01684 833256 for further details.

On Saturday, December 22, there will be village carol singing from 6.20pm.

If you would like to join in, please be at the church by 6pm where you can partake of a glass of sherry and a mince pie before setting off around the village carrying lanterns.
