ON Thursday, November 15, a coffee morning with raffle and sales table will be held at 78 Malvern Road, the home of Peter and Marian Lewis, from 10am to noon in aid of the Children’s Society.

Powick Ramblers numbered 14 plus two dogs on their walk around Hanley Swan, led by Cheryl, last Wednesday. Next week’s walk is on Thursday, November 15, meeting at 10am at Alfrick and Lulsley Village Hall for a four-mile easy walk led by Garth (01886 833362).

Powick Guild met last month to hear how Neville Radburn had left the Lygon Arms in Broadway to care for his mother and then became a patissier at local establishments.

Last Sunday Powick Church was full for the baptism of two youngsters.

Yasmin Mia Cook and Harley Oliver Luckman were baptised by the Rev Sue Irwin. Yasmin lives in Byron’s Wood and Harley lives in Malvern and his grandparents are from Callow End.

The Christmas craft fair held last Saturday in Powick Parish Hall raised more than £700 for the Friends of St Peter’s. Special thanks to all stall holders and those who supported the event and to Lyn and Roy Snook.

Powick Badminton Club holds its annual meeting on Wednesday at 8pm in the Three Nuns. This Wednesday the RSPB hold a meeting in the parish hall at 7.30pm.
