MORE than 450 people were given an insight into life in the Army Reserve at a careers fair in Redditch.

The event, hosted by 37th Signal Regiment in conjunction with Jobcentre Plus, also featured local and national employers including Oakland, KFC, Compco Fire Systems, Bromsgrove District and Redditch Borough councils, the NHS, TK Maxx, Matalan and McDonald’s.

It took place last week at the Army Reserve Centre in Winyates Way, North Moons Moat.

Regimental Ops Support Officer Captain Andy Barnard said: "It was a tremendous success with a great turn out on the day, including visits form the local mayor Pattie Hill and MP for Redditch Karen Lumley.

“We have a good working relationship with Jobcentre Plus in Redditch, making it a really promising event for the Army Reseve and the community as a whole.

"Hopefully lots of people will find employment with us or another organisation.”

The aim was that people seeking employment would come along and see what the Army Reserve group does and what the other exhibitors had to offer.
