GROUPS which support the most disadvantaged and vulnerable adults in the community are being urged to apply for a slice of £100,000.

Worcestershire County Council's Community Learning Trust, managed by the Libraries and Learning Service, has received £100k this year from the Skills Funding Agency to support adult community learning.

This year, the trust has two main areas of focus: projects that will deliver learning activity in support of the development of employment skills; and projects which meet the mental well-being of individuals who don’t normally access mainstream learning provision.

Applications can be made by either single organisations or partnerships with a collaborative bid.

The allocation of funds is decided by an annually formed panel of representatives from community provider organisations with local experience and knowledge of working in communities of greatest need.

The projects selected are for the benefit of adults aged 19 plus who are socially or economically disadvantaged.

A session at Redditch Library has been planned to support people interested in making an application.

The meetings will answer any questions people may have on the application process and provide insight into how to submit a successful bid.

There is also an opportunity to network with other like-minded organisations.

Nikki Stearman, Community Learning Trust programme manager for libraries and learning said: "The Community Learning Trust is all about providing more opportunities for adults to help them improve their lives.

"We are really keen to get as many applications as possible and suggest anyone interested does come along to a network event and find out more about the Trust and application process."

The session is on May 13 between 10am and 11am.

Anyone interested in attending is being urged to email nbuck@worcestershire.gov.uk.

The deadline for completed applications to be returned is June 30.
