ENHANCEMENT works in Tenbury are “progressing well” and will finish by Easter weather-permitting, according to Worcestershire County Council.

The project is reaching its final stages, with work now to include drainage works, final footway works and full carriageway re-surfacing.

To meet the deadline phased night closures in Market Street will take place between 6pm and 6am from Wednesday, March 11, to Monday, March 30, alongside weekend working.

Councillor Ken Pollock, of Worcestershire County Council, said: "We are now reaching the final stages of the project, which will make our town more attractive to shoppers and visitors.

“Throughout this period we have endeavoured to keep disruption to a minimum and appreciate your on-going patience and support.

"Our town is still very much open and able to trade normally and I'd like to thank everyone who is backing our traders during this time and would encourage people to continue doing just that as we go into these final stages."

Pedestrian access will be maintained to businesses and properties along with vehicle access to the town initially via the Crow Corner end followed by the Market Square end as work progresses.

The Palmers Meadow car park will be accessible at all times.

A small amount of complete night road closures are expected to fall towards the end of these works to enable full carriageway resurfacing to be completed.
