THOUSANDS flocked to a Vale village to celebrate its annual autumn show.

The traditional Peopleton event, held on Saturday (September 6), saw more than 3,000 local people, families, and friends join in with festivities after it was opened at noon by the Pershore Town Crier.

Phil Smith, a member of the organising committee which bought the event to the village hall, said this year was bigger and m,ore successful than ever,

He said: "We had the best ever show of classic cars and military vehicles, with about 180 in total, along with three large steam engines and other vintage farm machinery.

"The children’s games were a very popular event, for all age groups, with mums and dads also joining in. The standards of the fruit veg and flowers entries were very high and I can vouch for the very good cake entries.

"All in all, a very successful day."

Disney's Frozen character Elsa, played by Charlii Harrington, also went along for the activities, posing for pictures with eager fans.

For the tug of war competition, the Coventry Arms won the men’s event and Peopleton Ladies won the ladies catergory.

Monies raised from the day-long show will be donated to good causes within Peopleton, such as the parochial Church Council, Scouts and Brownies, Cricket Club and maintenance of the Peopleton Village hall.
