A SKATE competition is being held to promote the TG's skatepark project.
The event, at Victoria Park, Malvern Link, is a joint venture with YouthWorcs, with the support of Malvern Hills Community Safety Partnership and Ian Budd of Chilled.
Intended as a fun event for young people to show off their skills, it takes place on Saturday, September 9, and will include three categories: in-line, skate and BMX.
The Community Safety Partnership is providing mobile skate ramps and there will be DJs, barbecue and gladiator inflatable game. It starts at noon and finish at about 5pm. This event has been funded by FLOSS, and TG's Project would like to thank the funders for their support.
The TG's Project aims to create a skatemark and youth cafe in memory of Tim Greenwood, a young skater who died of leukaemia in 2003. There will be displays about the project on the day, and committee members will be available to answer questions from the public.
Entry is £3 with forms available from Chilled on Graham Road, Mycycles on Worcester Road or Paul Burston on 07792 455157. Under-16s need parental consent.
