WORK started on Wednesday to improve a grassy car park on Peachfield Road, Malvern.
Malvern Hills Conservators agreed at the last meeting of its admin and resources committee to do the work.
The car park is used for parking all year round but in winter the entrance gets churned up into a muddy mess.
Conservators director Ian Rowat said stop-gap solutions, which have included putting down bark chippings, are not a long-term answer.
Instead, the Conservators have started laying a new surface consisting of perforated paving units, which will protect the surface and at the same time allow the grass to grow. The work is expected to take about two weeks.
