THE manager of a nursing home in North Malvern has backed calls for action on speeding drivers.
Last week, the Malvern Gazette reported how Hornyold Road residents were calling on the highways authority to take action over drivers who break the 30mph limit.
They even put up home made road sign on local lamp-posts, reminding motorists to slow down.
Now Pam Clarke, manager of the Cleeve House nursing home, has added her voice to the call.
She said that residents in the home, which accomodates 16 elderly people, were afraid to cross the road.
"Our residents are mobile, they like to go out for a walk, or to the shops at Link Top, but the traffic is just too fast for them," she said.
"I think we're going to lose a life. We've had to call out an ambulance because someone crashed in to our wall."
Local people want to see some form of traffic calming. The county highways agency says it is working on some options which it will present to residents.
