MALVERN Fringe has a fantastic line up of bands, stalls and performers to celebrate the theme of William Shakespeare on its Much Ado About May Day celebration next Saturday, April 30.

From 11am to 5pm, there will be a host of activities for all ages in Malvern's Priory Park.

One highlight will be performances by professional acting company Finding the Will. Bard heads is written by Jules Hobbs and Richard Curnow and is a mixture of performance and interactive drama. The performances are based on Macbeth, Hamlet, Twelfth Night and The Tempest, with audience participation for a Jeremy Kyle Shakespearean special.

Come along in fancy dress as Shakespeare - costumes can be hired from the Coach House Theatre - and you could win the Shakespeare lookalike competition. The winners of the Malvern May Day poetry competition for local schools will be revealed to show what young bards Malvern has to offer.

This family event has something for everyone with live music on two stages, street theatre with Dr Philistine from Covent Garden, circus skills with Mark Solo, the Deckerdence Cocktail Bar inside a real London double-decker bus, organic food, a healing area, the annual Bardic address, story-telling, Malvern Spa Association, Drumlove drumming workshops, flower basketry and much more.

Malvern Fringe is a registered charity run by volunteers and has been going for over 20 years. With recent funding cuts, any donations to support valued community events like Malvern May Day will be gratefully received at www.malvernfringe.co.uk.
