PUPILS at Northleigh Primary School took part in a whole day of fundraising activities to help the Darajani School, their link school in Tanzania.
They began the day on Friday, February 5, with Tanzania-style uji porridge, before taking part in a range of activities that included welly-wanging, a beat-the-goalie competition, an art competition and Northleigh's first ever gunge the teacher.
Head Rose Carberry said: “I recently visited the Darajani School and what they need more than anything is a kitchen. We are trying to raise enough money to make this a reality and I want to thank the children, parents and teachers for their generosity in helping us to meet this target, and having some fun along the way. I am very proud of the children and how committed they are to helping others. ”
She said that the school has now raised £920 towards the project, which has a total cost of £2,500.
