PEOPLE are being reminded to dust off their walking boots in preparation for a charity walk on the Malverns.
The annual Malvern Hills walk for St Richard’s Hospice takes place on Saturday, May 21 and all abilities will be catered for, with a choice of two, five and 11-mile routes.
Last year more than 500 people took part in the walk raising more than £22,000 for the hospice’s work for patients and their families with cancer and other life-threatening illnesses.
St Richard’s Hospice community fundraiser, Phillipa Jones, said: “This walk is a hugely popular event and appeals to all ages. It is great fun for those taking part, but also the money raised makes such a big difference to helping us continue with our work locally."
She added: “The Malvern Hills are spectacular and give such panoramic views over the surrounding countryside. There is a choice of walks depending on your fitness levels and a great sense of camaraderie. We also want to say a big thank you to Mountainshack for their sponsorship again this year.”
There is no entry fee but participants are asked to donate their sponsorship money to St Richard’s.
