LOWER Howsell play are is set to receive a £15,000 refurbishment.
The play area is scheduled for refurbishment this year and a recommendation to replace a climbing frame and roundabout was made to Malvern Town Council following an annual inspection.
Three companies were invited to tender bids for the work, with a specific request to supply “innovative equipment that gives both good play value and learning value”.
Members of the town council’s operations committee will be asked to agree on one of the bids when they meet on Tuesday (September 14).
They are being recommended to accept a tender for £14,895 - the cheapest of the three submitted - that scores joint highest on an assessment of both learning and play value.
There is £15,000 set aside in the council’s 2010-11 budget for the work.
