MALVERN Rotary Club has already raised almost £3,000 to help victims of the terrible floods in Pakistan.
A collection at Malvern Retail Park and an appeal in the Gazette raised almost £1,000, and a further £1,700 has come from personal donations from Rotarians.
The money is enabling the club to send seven Gold Aquaboxes - each of which will purify water for a family of four for eight months - to Pakistan.
The money will also purchase four Aquafilter Community Boxes, which will purify 50,000 litres of water, and a Water Survival Box, which purifies water and contains other important survival goods.
Malvern Rotary will be continuing its efforts and hopes to send more aid in the coming weeks.
“This kind of support is needed many times over,” said spokesman Sandy Gibson.
Gazette readers can send any donations to: Basil Dewing, 20 Priory Road, Malvern WR14 3DR.
