MALVERN’S bumper crop of entries into the Heart of England in Bloom community awards have achieved fantastic results.

The town took top honours in each of the three categories - pubs/hotels, schools and ‘It’s Your Neighbourhood’ - with the Cotford Hotel and St Joseph’s Primary named best in category and Little Malvern Priory claiming the ‘Award of Distinction’.

Malvern can also boast a host of other top performers across all three categories, and there was also delight for Malvern in Bloom chairman John Jordan, who was honoured with an ‘Outstanding Achievement’ award.

Speaking from the awards ceremony in Leominster Priory yesterday (Thursday), he said: “This is an absolutely superb result for the whole district and everyone involved.

“Bearing in mind the size of our area we have a higher proportion of entries than anywhere else in the region and it is great to see that effort and enthusiasm being so well rewarded.”
