DESIRE Petroleum has plugged and abandoned its first well in the waters of the Falkland Islands after poor results.
The company said today (Tuesday) it had finished logging the Liz well, in the North Falkland Basin, after only finding gas in poor quality reservoirs.
The Liz well is the first of a series that are being targeteted by British oil companies in a controversial programme.
