AN important Government official from the West African nation of the Gambia paid a visit to Castlemorton primary school on Thursday (November 5).
Momodou Sanneh, the country's director of education, made the visit because of a long-standing link between the country and the village school.
Head Janet Adsett said the school has been connected with a school in the Gambia, called Boraba, for some seven years.
“Mr Sanneh was a great help to us when we visited the Gambia back in February," she said. "So we were very pleased to be able to welcome him to our school."
The children greeted Mr Sanneh with songs, after which he was shown around the school, during which he sat in on classes. He also discussed educational matters with the head and staff.
Also visiting the school with him was Jane Smith of Malvern, who has been instrumental in linking up schools in Worcestershire and the Gambia.
