UPTON’S Christmas lights will be turned on by mayor Paul Thomas at 4.30pm on Saturday, November 28.
It is hoped the Hanley Castle High School Band and Star Radio will be in town for the event, which will also mark the start of a special Christmas shopping promotion.
This will run along similar lines to a promotion run at Easter. Every time a customer shops at a participating local outlet their details will be entered into a draw to win a prize of £200. The shop that handed out the winning entry will also be rewarded with £200.
