WHEN you visit Malvern library during November, not only will you discover funky chickens but cockerels, Christmas robins, Christmas trees, leaping and boxing hares plus a whole array of artistic delights.

Two Malvern artists have taken over the library's display cases for the whole month to show off their talents.

Marie-Thérèse King who produces exquisite works of art in Batik, an ancient Indonesian art-form of layering melted wax and water-based dyes to create vibrant works of art on cotton or paper.

Marie-Thérèse, who runs Eekbatik with Sarah Jones, displays colourful fine art prints and batik cards. She will also be running free workshops tomorrow (Saturday, November 14) at the library to create spectacular paper crowns to wear at the Malvern Christmas parade on November 28. The two-hour workshops are at 10am and 1pm. To book a place, contact Malvern Library on 01905 822722.

Sharing the display cases with Marie-Thérèse is Mike Smart, author of The Malvern Hills photographic book, which is one of Beacon Books'selections for Christmas.

Along with his book, Mike displays prints and cards using images taken from his highly-praised book together with his hare sculptures.

All works of art from both artists are for sale but be quick, as the display only runs until the end of November.
