MALVERN man Peter Williams was this week awarded a fellowship by the University of Worcester.
Mr Williams, a former chief executive of the Quality Assurance Agency, the independent body that assesses standards in higher education, was appointed CBE in the Queen’s Birthday honours list in June for services to higher education.
Mr Williams has held a number of important roles in higher education during his career.
From 1984 until 1990 he was the deputy secretary of the British Academy. before serving in high posts in various assessment agencies.
In March 2002 Mr Williams was appointed chief executive of QAA, a post from which he only retired in September this year.
