SIX supporters of Amnesty International slept outside Lyttelton Well in Malvern in support of Refugee Week.
Group chairman Bob Leverett said: "People were very supportive and friendly and we think it was a good way to draw attention to the plight of refugees who have no means of support. We were particularly impressed by the number of younger people who stopped by to talk to us about what we were doing and why."
This was part of a nationwide programme of events arranged for the Still Human Still Here campaign run jointly by Amnesty International, Church Action on Poverty and the British Refugee Council Mr Leverett said: "The campaign highlights the plight of tens of thousands of refused asylum seekers who are forced into poverty, including homelessness, as a matter of Government policy in an attempt to drive them out."
