CONSTRUCTION of 32 new retirement apartments in Malvern Link will begin in August.
Churchill Retirement Living will create a mixture of one and two-bedroom apartments next to Malvern Fire Station, on Howsell Road.
Malvern Hills District Council granted planning permission in March despite concerns over increased traffic and the impact on the views of neighbouring retirement complex Santler Court.
The new apartments will share landscaped gardens, an owners' lounge and a lift to all floors, and enjoy the services of a dedicated lodge manager.
Public toilets on Worcester Road will be demolished and re-built nearby as part of the work.
