IT is that time of year again, so get ready to take part in the World's Biggest Coffee Morning next Friday (September 24).

Wherever you are, there is bound to be somewhere you can go to take part in the annual fund-raiser, whether it is a cafe, school, bank or private home.

All the cash goes to Macmillan Cancer Support to fund its vital work of helping improve the lives of people affected by cancer, both those with it, and their families and carers.

One of the regular venues in Malvern is the Prospect View Health Centre, where coffee and cakes will be provided by volunteers from Community Action.

Richard Vakis, practice manager at Prospect View, said: "It's always a popular event, and we are happy to support such a good cause.”

Lansdowne Crescent Methodist Church is another, where the church's croquet club is holding a coffee morning in the welcome room.

In the town centre, venues as diverse as Barclays Bank in Worcester Road and the Fig Tree restaurant in Church Street are taking part, as is Malvern St James school and Malvern Cake Company in Madresfield Road.

Further afield, coffee is also on offer at Blue Ginger Gallery in Cradley and the Royal Oak pub in Leigh Sinton.

Over in Ledbury, the coffee morning at Harling Court, which also includes a cake sale, bring-and-buy and prize draw, is always popular.

Good Neighbours Club will be laying out a welcome at 38 Belle Orchard Close, as is Valery Howley at 1 Oakleigh Cottages.

Coffee mornings will also be happening at Hawcutt Funeral Directors, J B Gaynan and Son, and Hairwaves, all in the Homend, as well as Janet's Hair Salon in New Street, Mrs Muffins Tea Shop in Church Lane and the Leadon Bank care home.
