AT the May bi-monthly meeting of the Malvern Hills Lions Club at the Great Malvern Hotel, a well-attended meeting showed great interest in a talk by Roger Smith.
Roger is a well-known local teacher and explorer, who had retraced the steps of the original expedition of Sir Ernest Shackleton to the Antarctic in the early 20th century.
Excellent photographs and detailed descriptions ensured an attentive audience. The very severe weather conditions tested the equipment and stamina of the group.
