AN unexpected boost in the weather brought a unexpected treat this weekend and a welcome boost to us all, adding a lovely feel good factor to our days. Long may it last. We are hoping it lasts until our Summer Fair and beyond!

And so it was most apposite that that the premature Summer warmth provided a balmy evening for us as the back drop for our concert on Saturday. We even had to turn the heating off!! The newly formed Piano Trio, consisting of Tim Sidford, Shulah Oliver and Rebecca Rose , performed an evening of outstanding music. The large and very appreciative audience were privy to a first class performance of Arnold, Beethoven and Brahms, with an added bonus of Dvorak as an encore. How fortunate and blessed we are with such performances here in Malvern and from local musicians. There were several requests for them to return, we sincerely hope they do. We love the fact that Christ Church is growing stronger in its place as a much appreciated venue in the heart of Great Malvern for the Performing Arts.

Our next concert is on June 19 at 3pm when we are will be raising funds for Worcestershire Cancer Aid. The Messiaen Players will proudly perform Messiaen’s Quartet for the End of Time. The programme also features Debussy. Tickets £10 in advance (01684 560715) or on the door Family ticket £20, students £6, children 11 and under free Enquiries & reservations: info@mikehalliday.com.
