THE Rogation Walk on Sunday near the Marcle Ridge, was well supported and the good weather ensured a successful and pleasant outing for the couple of dozen people who put on their walking boots. This walk is an ancient Christian tradition to bless the land and the new crops.

Everyone met first of all at Old Yatton Church (1100s) before walking to New Yatton Church ( a mere 200 years old), and then on to St Bartholomew’s at Much Marcle. A short service was held at each church and this followed a serving of coffee and cake. Those who couldn’t manage the walk joined in at the services.

This Sunday is Family Service at Christ Church here in the village, 9.30am.

And a thought to end with: ‘He enjoys much, who is thankful for little.’

Have a great week!
