THE President Val Graham welcomed everyone to our April meeting and invited us to stand and sing Jerusalem.
Our speaker for the afternoon was Linda Marsden from Saltmarshe WI who’s topic was ‘Back Care’.
Linda started with a potted history of her life explaining how she came into training people about Back Care; she then went on to emphasize the shape of our back and how one should sit, stand, lay, bend our knees (not bend from the waist) and not over reach. We also discussed chairs, beds and mattress’s and what kind of exercise is suitable, we could have carried on but it was tea-time.
We resumed with the WI business, the Secretary Eileen Hunt read the minutes of the last meeting and Val continued with the forthcoming events. The ACM April 18 in Hereford and volunteers to Steward at the 3 Counties Show in June, plus other items of interest.
The President informed us our oldest member Meg Knowles would be 96 next week so we all sang Happy Birthday to her. Then we sang God Save to Queen for the Queen’s birthday on 21st.
The next meeting will be held on May 10 at 2pm in the Baptist Hall, Homend, Ledbury. Where we look forward to welcoming our speaker Andrew De La Haye from the Woodland Trust.
